I'm glad I'm not the only one with this same experience. It lingers all day long and is an all around gorgeous, high quality, extraordinary smelling fragrance. Check out Ted Lapidus Altamir for Men. Now the vanilla is coming through, and it adds sweetness. And if it smells like the decant you good, it might be aged a bit and heat makes fragrances lose its essence. Not a fan of the original Alien but thisthis is awesome. No huge sillage either, Essence Absolue lasts long but is more secretive, closer to skin. This fragrance is lush. Love love love. I took a few days off work this week, and Ive been walking about the city in amber overdrive! Smells expensive and classy but doesn't smell of anything complex or that interesting. Brown comfy soft sweater sprayed with the doze of this cozy vanilla. If you want a better description of top notes and dry down and whatnot, keep scrolling. In a word, this fragrance is luxurious. I get that spiky cold menthol note at the top that totally caught me off-guard. The scent stays close to my body but is absolutely amazing. The vanilla comes out quite strong on me, but its not overly sweet. day. Its a rich, deep amber with that unique Alien jasmine undertone. Its an unmistakable relative of Alien. Not something I would buy, though. The vanilla is blended beautifully here, stopping this fragrance from being a typical sweet mainstream fragrance and show how pleasurable to the nose Alien can be with that perculiar sweetness. Love it so much i dont use it. I loooove wearing this with casual outfits. This is one of those FOR SURE a little goes a long way fragrances. Well I did it!

I remember the original Alien so fondly, it reminds me of high school 10 years back. This stuff is amazing!!!!! The opening is like a jasmine slap to the senses that almost knocks you over, making me question my choices.. Once the stars floating around your head begin to dissipate, the magic happens.. Orris root brings you a warm compress and cashmere wraps around you, while you venture on a magic carpet ride. What's one more great review? This was the king of the Alien collection. Step into a new dimension with this augmented version of the original Alien Goddess. I am enjoying this a lot. Bought a backup full size bottle right away without any hesitation! However, I sprayed a mixture of HP with OG Alien on one wrist and Alien Essence Absolue on the other wrist, and I had a few people in my family tell me the differences. i bought a 30ml bottle on ebay to see what the fuss was all about and i have to say you girls are right. It is strong enough to be noticed, but feels very intimate. This is a love for me. Mixture of alien and hypnotic poison. The jasmine is tempered by the gorgeous cashmere woods, amber, and massive dose of vanilla which brings the original Alien composition to another dimension.
I notice the similarities between this fragrance and Hypnotic Poison by Dior mixed with the original Alien EDP. It's an interesting composition, like a cross between eucalyptus and some kind of old-fashioned European candy. I usually want to choose this one over all the others in my possession. It truly is a delicious fragrance. I got sick of it and gifted the rest of my bottle to my cousin and then she wore it how it should have been worn, ONE spray! Adore it. As much as I dislike the original Alien, this version makes my senses go crazy in a good way. Spraying it was like biting into a delicious looking candy bar only to discover your teeth are sensitive to sugar. Is is supposed to be plastic? It wasn't long until I bought a bottle for myself. Very classy feminine perfume! This fragrance was so hyped, I got my hands on a bottle online as it has been discontinued. I actually bought two. Im not usually a fan of flankers, but this one is outstanding! Yum yum yum! Shes a Mugler lover so I trust her opinion when she says its the best dupe shes smelled. Id really appreciate it. It is even better than the original alien edp, since I have the reformulated bottle that is so much toned down compared to the one I smelled 7 years ago. Beautiful scent, elegant, long-lasting, just enough sweetness but not too much. If you don't know which one you have, look at the name on the box. I'm awfully glad I didn't. It's unfortunate that I discovered this gem after it has been disconnected and couldn't get a backup for it :(. The performance is superb with a moderate or better sillage, great longevity, moderate or larger projection, and an affordable price point. No amount of vanilla in the world will turn such medicinal notes into something edible. It's warm, creamy, round, feminine and I keep sniffing to my wrist. After it dries down completely which is several hours later I do smell a light vanilla but this just does not work for me. So smooth sexy and deeply sweet. I am massively lucky to have the means to have acquired two bottles of the original, which I have dutifully compared to a third bottle which is the newer formulation.

I smell almost every ingredient - which is rare for me, since I do not have a super-nose. It's warm and so feminine. I really want to need this perfume again and again. Nothing sambac jasmine about it. I was recently able to get my hands on a bottle and a couple of backups of the original, not the L'Oreal version. Also its a compliment getter.. The most sexy scent I've ever used. Its rich! The reviews for Essence Absolue are so glowing that I blind-bought it. It is also stronger than the original EDP, while being more wearable and less piercing, thanks to a subdued and more tropical jasmine. Declare as many as unique codes to receive suprises by the thousands! I am beyond heartbroken that they discontinued this masterpiece. The Alien DNA is there, but the vanilla, amber, myrrh, and incense take it to a different level. Warmer, sweeter, big on vanilla version of the original EDP. It is really awesome that in 2018 when most scents are just ruined by IFRA, that we can still buy something that lasts!! It's so strong too that it sometimes gives me a nausea feeling. It was too intense and it gave me a little headache,and I felt a little bit depressed of its deepness too.Not my cup of tea! The new fragrance is described as richly intense, sensual, deep and mysterious. I am slightly shaking from cold but the scent gives me safety and pleasure. I will stick with my beautiful original Alien. I find it also has a bit more sweetness than the original Alien. This was very hard to find in my area, so I ordered it from abroad a few years back (more than once! They need to bring this one back. I feel completely untouchable in this fragrance.
After almost two years of owning a 60 ml bottle of this (which I blind bought), I have finally found a way to wear and enjoy Alien Essence Absolue completely. Definitely, someone else will be extremely happy to have it. I agree with the other reviews that say it resembles. It only elevates the fragrance to a new level. If youre looking for a dupe, try Scarlet Letter from Juliannas Perfume. We weren't friends, but I saw her plenty--in the halls and cafeteria. F*cking contemplating it! I confess I do not normally gravitate towards floral scents, instead preferring rich, woodsy and/or gourmand orientals with very few florals, if any. Its like a sweet , vanilla version of JPG classique. Why MUGLER would even choose to discontinue this beauty I will never know! @Anamandy, I'm wearing this today and I personally don't find it candy sweet. This has been my signature fragrance for years for some reason after watching a couple Jeremy and Demi Videos I decided I wanted to explore in the Niche world I have many as of this day from Roja,Francis Kurdjian to Frederick Malle and nothing specially with the huge price difference compares to this one , I feel I smell unique glamorous powerful I can use it all year round by just adjusting the amount applied ,longe ,projection compliments everything is monster and with boys it just bring them into this spellbound they dont want to scape, This has been my signature fragrance for years is just mesmerizing it can be used in any weather or occasion just by adjusting the amount you apply I feel sorry that I was planning to change for a niche but I have tried so many so far from Roja , Francis Kurdjian to Frederick Malle and have not found any compare to this , longevity, projection ,compliments how I feel when Im wearing it not to mention men got into an spell bound under this one, This is gorgeous! But there is something cool about it. Even my husband said this is a date night perfume a special one. I Bought this blindly because there were no testers and boy was i wrong , this really didn't work with my chemistry. Gold in a bottle. But accidentally, I layered it and wow. Alien and a little vanilla for the top half then turns to 3/4 the buttery-sweet smell of living on a farm in the summer plus homemade buttery vanilla pound cake, then the other 1/4 Alien. This scent is like a candied amplified version of the original Alien. 
If anyone is looking to sell their bottle, Im interested! WOW! Alien but sweeter and even more compelling. I could see how it could be a little overwhelming if over sprayed. operfume I recently rediscovered this perfume. Very good smelling and worth the price. This is a mouth watering oriental gourmand that deserves a chance. Weird. They are quite similar in composition so they mix extremely well, they last longer than when used on their own and the scent is simply out of this world. This is a gorgeous scent. If anyone is looking for a bottle of Alien Essence Absolu and you live in Canada, try Hudsons Bay. The Amber is a constant note singing in the background, so beautiful and rich on the skin. The same jasmine and amber in both, but while the original has a strong woody quality this one does not. A new vibrating talisman bottle encapsulating a Floral Woody Ambery fragrance. A 10/10 in my book! It's a gorgeous warm rich and sweet amber with a slightly boozy honeyed vanilla, a little incense-y. Im guarding my last 5ml decant.
$69 for extrait de parfum, and Mila LeBlanc on YouTube recommended it, as well! I kept trying thinking my nose would sooner or later turn it into the vanilla bomb others experience. So, I will do my best to paint an accurate picture of this fragrance right here. There are some left at department stores online but I don't know if once they are sold out if they will be restocked. Any thoughts? Alien essence absolu has reached the level of an iconic perfume and deservedly so. I get it. THIS is sexy. and I can't believe that they are discontinuing this! The trail this leaves is absolutely stunning! I sit in the chilly train, bury my face in the collar of the sweater and sniff this beauty while staring at browning leaves in the forests I am passing by. I'm so sad its discontinued. It's so beautifully sweet, creamy and amazing on me. nor Poeme. I must lament that the reformulation after the acquisition, albeit still lovely, is a watered-down shadow of its former self. I love the wafts of it I got throughout the day, and when I smelled my wrists the scent was lovely as well. It was good, but just too demanding. If you like Alien, youll like this. I am NOT an alien fan. It seems more of a different fragrance than an Alien flanker. Which is how long it lasted. I wasnt sure whether this was being discontinued or not, but I decided to add this to my Alien EDP order, scared that I might not be able to get this later in the year. Personally I would pick the original over this one, this version takes it to the next level which really is too much IMO. I absolutely love this! It is one of those "empowering" scents that you can't stop sniffing when you wear it. The florals are just a tad too heavy or "heady" as many call it. For some reason I get no Jasmine at all which is a total bummer. It arrives, Packaging was great, sealed, sticker, codes, inside packaging looks good, number engraved on bottle, code on top flap allowed me to register with circle. Walked into the room where he was and he went, "Wow! To my nose it smells exactly like Alien but less "fresh" and smoky, and more sweet (not gourmand) and rounded with a touch of vanilla in the drydown. I like the original sometimes, but it IS a synthetic beast and not something I want to smell everyday.
