This would also make a great project for summer camp as it will help create an awareness of nature and easy materials to use. And finally pray that you wont get air bubbles! Would you use the Plasticine for concrete as well? I like that they are quite exact and can be cleaned. Pity Im in South Africa because I wouldve loved to meet you in person, maybe some creativity will rub off.
At this stage you can carefully press any buds that havent gone in evenly but be gentle about this and try not to touch the clay.

Im so excited! If I disturb the clay and try to smooth it, it gets worse But what a great feeling it is to declutter dont you think? Can you see it? Another option is to not try to be so perfect and embrace a more rustic background and edge. I start the cut with a knife and then some heavy scissors. The relief work is then sanded and sprayed with a sealant to protect the plaster and ready the piece for painting. I just got the last of my supplies today, including plant cuttings, and will be trying it tomorrow.

Each piece of art is hand painted by me, sometimes using quality texture mediums along with my professional acrylic paints to create a beautiful work of art, while other pieces are left unpainted to focus on the natural color of the plaster. It may take a bit of extra pressure since the flower heads are thicker. It is amazing how much texture appears! You may have noticed, Im more than slightly obsessed with the forms of nature and collect things to bring the outside in all the time.

Famedversions of some of my casts areavailable in the Framed Botanical Casts Collection. Cut clay to the size of your desired tile, you will use these off cuts of clay to create a margin to hold the plaster later. Im adding 2 parts DAP to 1 part cold water, waiting a few moments and mixing. Its a beautiful piece and area. There are more special features to enhance your experience.
Attach a border to your tile with the offcuts of clay you saved earlier using your fingers to adhere these edging pieces to the tile so that it is proofed from possible leaks. Required fields are marked *. Thanks again.. off to order some clay and plaster!
