Hi Kipp, In that case, we fill the fresh water tank prior to arriving at the campsite. They attach to the end of a garden hose and expand inside a pipe to make a seal, and then the water pressure forces the clog to break up and move on down the pipe. If it's accessible, replacing an existing elbow at the top of the drain with a 'T' with a vacuum breaker in the top leg can cure the siphoning issue. I have found that the most effective way to fix a slow draining sink is to remove the drain pipes and trap under the sink and take them outside to clean and flush out with a garden hose.
You should be able to test the vent line by trying to blow air from your mouth through about diameter tube reasonably well sealed at the vent opening. My vent is a 1/2 FPT port on the top of the tank, plumbed with 1/2 PEX routed through a hole In the floor. That small hose would "T" into the filler hose several inches down the filler hose line.
There is no shutoff on that overflow. The drain pipes are plastic and are easy to remove without tools (usually) and easy to reinstall.

Regarding the vent associated with your fill port, my understanding is that is not meant to be a part of your tank venting, rather it is to facilitate the smooth filling of your tank by providing air ingress to the filling hose going to your tank. It does work if you do it correctly. Unscrew a few of the bolts and pull it down, have a look under there to see what you can find. In front of this is the galley cabinet which extends forward into the slider opening. Turn on the pump, open each faucet, and let it run until the entire freshwater system is filled with the bleach/water solution. So a single vent with a 1-way valve cant work. The issue with a check valve is that the vent has 2 purposes. The top one shows the vent and fill hoses attached to the fill dish and the bottom photo shows where they go into the fresh water tank. The smaller hose in the picture is the vent hose that was replaced. There are several different ones on the market and they all work without any electrical probes inside the tank. I was thinking of doing this but was worried about mosture getting up inside the D pillar from the vent and causing problems, ie corrison.

The fill hole for the water tank is on the SIDE facing forward and I plan to place the air vent on the TOP of the tank, just behind the fill hole. How will you know the tanks are full? Id extend the line at least a cpl of feet above the tank, or allow for water to slosh out. If the passage is blocked by water in the u-tube like vent tube you could blow this water back into the water tank. Just looked at the water heater tank rinser tool. I would rather not remove it all. The vent is located on top of tank centered and the 1/4" tubing runs forward and up inside the sink cabinet about 12 " above the top of the tank. I never have to worry about water-quality issues with my tank, as Im only using that water for washing. Maybe look at some nice marine thru hull vents and just go out the sidewall. Length of tube does not matter but height does. The tank lays horizontal under my dinette with all the fittings coming off the end. If the vent was on top of tank on an end, uneven parking could have a full tank block the vent with water resulting in low flow or no flow from pump. Go on the roof and have a look at the vent. This long loop of hose keeps water from running out when the Casita is going up a hill.

My vent is a 1/2 FPT port on the top of the tank, plumbed with 1/2 PEX routed through a hole In the floor. That small hose would "T" into the filler hose several inches down the filler hose line.
There is no shutoff on that overflow. The drain pipes are plastic and are easy to remove without tools (usually) and easy to reinstall.
Also shouldn't matter where the vent is located on the tank because it will likely back up from your fill port before your vent (that should rise above your tank). Regarding the vent associated with your fill port, my understanding is that is not meant to be a part of your tank venting, rather it is to facilitate the smooth filling of your tank by providing air ingress to the filling hose going to your tank. The smaller hose in the picture is the vent hose that was replaced. There are several different ones on the market and they all work without any electrical probes inside the tank. I was thinking of doing this but was worried about mosture getting up inside the D pillar from the vent and causing problems, ie corrison.

The fill hole for the water tank is on the SIDE facing forward and I plan to place the air vent on the TOP of the tank, just behind the fill hole. How will you know the tanks are full? Id extend the line at least a cpl of feet above the tank, or allow for water to slosh out. If the passage is blocked by water in the u-tube like vent tube you could blow this water back into the water tank. Just looked at the water heater tank rinser tool. I would rather not remove it all. The vent is located on top of tank centered and the 1/4" tubing runs forward and up inside the sink cabinet about 12 " above the top of the tank. This long loop of hose keeps water from running out when the Casita is going up a hill.
