The powermatic name is a brand of WMH Tools, the company that makes Jet, Performax and other brands.

Long story short, found a used Powermatic 73 (1 1/2 hp discontinued model) and I am sure someone out there has used/still uses one, and wondering what your thoughts are on it? I have been realy needing one, and this sounds like a good one for the money.

The dust collector has been tested and is in good working condition. However the cloth filter bag, while it seems to fit well at the ring clamp, just lets out too much fine dust. Anyways, I am happy with it.

I am assuming that it being Powermatic, it should be a pretty good machine.

For $125 you will not have any regrets.

I have a woodtek DC and have been happy with their performance though I've never had another brand to compare them to and I use the DC in a well ventilated shop.

    Powermatic and Jet are sister companies and it wouldn't surprise me if both brands of DC's weren't made at the same facility. Have you upgraded the 30 micron bag to something else or are you also using one of those ventilator type air purifiers?

    My table saw cabinet is clear of dust, my jointer hums along without having to stop to clear the dust port.

    I don't have experience with the powermatic but I will say this.
