I highly recommend people to find an honest mechanic to pay them fair, rather dump the money to toilet,money use to the service advisor, a comfortable sofa in the dealer, free coffee and million dollars to the mechanic in dealership. Seems most of the failures are right after warranties expire.

Basically same as others2017 CRV, just out of the 3 year warranty with only 30K miles. Just to fill it up with freon costs $500 because it uses 1234yf, which costs 10 times more than R-134a. The AC is not cooling. I did a little bit of research on this topic on a 2009 civic (should be similar AC system) that had similar symptoms of intermittent cold AC air running for a bit, and then only warm air for a while, occasionally switching to bursts of cold air.

There arent any current Honda CR-V air conditioning recalls, and the service bulletin has expired. I turned the knob and it changes the way it comes out (vents, feet, etc). We have had to take our 2018 CRV to the dealer twice in the last 2 years. 2018 CRV EX with 28000 miles. Car is returning to dealer in two days. I have had my pending case under review for 2 months now and they are giving hard time.
The service bulletin was issued in July 2013. My dealer however is going to pick up 90% of the $1700 to replace the compressor.

Renee - your mother should panic if she does not have an extended warranty. This is ridiculous that Honda knows about this but isn't letting people know about it.
I highly recommend people to find an honest mechanic to pay them fair, rather dump the money to toilet,money use to the service advisor, a comfortable sofa in the dealer, free coffee and million dollars to the mechanic in dealership. Seems most of the failures are right after warranties expire.

Basically same as others2017 CRV, just out of the 3 year warranty with only 30K miles. Just to fill it up with freon costs $500 because it uses 1234yf, which costs 10 times more than R-134a. The AC is not cooling. I did a little bit of research on this topic on a 2009 civic (should be similar AC system) that had similar symptoms of intermittent cold AC air running for a bit, and then only warm air for a while, occasionally switching to bursts of cold air.
Took it to the Honda Dealer today was told the compressor would need replacing and would cost $2000.

Honda needs to take responsibility about AC problems. Took it to the dealer, they "guessed" it was an AC system leak and injected dye and refrigerant, asked my to bring it back in 6 months to see if there is leak and where. It now the beginning of Summer here in SoCal and we constantly getting temperatures in the high 90's and my CRV's air conditioning is malfunctioning again. People purchase a new vehicle to avoid costly repairs on older vehicles.

However everytime I switch on/ off the AC that click sound of the condenser activated comes but the cooling is not there. 2021system failed again and compressor was replaced. When I bought my 2007 CRV in 2018, the AC was not working. Thank God it was still under warranty. Where i should not even pay a dime. Great customer service. This seems to be a known problem with Honda! 2021 system worked without any issues.

Our 2018 has already had two recalls and now we are stunned by this absurd failure and repair cost. It has been properly maintained and was in pristine condition when suddenly the air conditioning started blowing hot air. He told me anywhere between $700-$2,000. Of course there is a problem getting a compressor because they have been on back order.Hopefully this works out, but Honda compressors should not fail in 30,000 miles.

The dealer ended up basically replacing the whole system since they said the compressor had a leaking seal at our cost of over $2500.
After reading all the complaints here, I now have a case # and will voice my concerns when I pick it up later today. I brought into the Honda dealership in Woodbridge, Va and the service technician that I was assigned never reacted out to inform the status.
The vehicle only has 27,000 miles on it. I have a 2018 Honda CR-V with 20K miles. We have owned 7 Hondas and having the compressor go bad in this new of a vehicle is NOT acceptable!!

Ok tested this on my lunch break. I am certain the issue I have on the civic with these symptoms is just a bad AC clutch, and not a bad compress/system.

Im at dealership because ac not blowing cold when I started using it this spring.
There arent any current Honda CR-V air conditioning recalls, and the service bulletin has expired. I turned the knob and it changes the way it comes out (vents, feet, etc). We have had to take our 2018 CRV to the dealer twice in the last 2 years. 2018 CRV EX with 28000 miles. Car is returning to dealer in two days. I have had my pending case under review for 2 months now and they are giving hard time.
The service bulletin was issued in July 2013. My dealer however is going to pick up 90% of the $1700 to replace the compressor.
