However, at times it feels oddly disconcerting on me and I question how good a fit we really are; in the end, Infusion D'Iris is either an auric mood ring or a sylph with its own personalitynever to be underestimated! This fragrance does not smell like a basket of market garden produce. And Original Colonia AdP becomes much softer when layered with this one:). I vote for Prada, too. In Infusion dIris, the note keeps its vegetal side, with a slight carroty nuance. Smells just like sweat on me, nothing more, nothing less.

Its sharper, and a lot of the warmth seems to be missing. Great review! Now that I read your post I realise A l'O in a way has some similarity to I d'I. Would cost you more though! but the whole effect was light. Not sure if it is going to hold up to real cold weather, but we'll see, perhaps it will do better than it seems.
I believe most people wear those sort of fragrances because they think wow no one I know wears this, well there is a good reason for this (they are disgusting).

I've also been impressed with Prada's mainstream perfumes to date, and I am especially fond of Prada Man, so I was excited to hear that the same perfumer who created that scent (Daniela Andrier) did Infusion d'Iris as well. Re scents spoiling or improving, it's generally the ones with strong base notes such as patchouli, incense, frankincense, vanilla (Orientals) that improve with age. And no, I wasnt planning on sending it back. It is so different than any of my other perfumes, as I generally hate light and fresh scents. Why shouldn't it? It's much too musky for an Eau de Cologne and lacking the white floweryness of your typical granny perfume. Certainly, if what you normally object to is the rootiness/earthiness (not a word, I guess), it is in control here, and there is none of the massively powdery-girly stuff either. 
This & EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia are IMHO the best mainstream scents so far this year. All

Don't think it is just interaction w/ plastic (majority of spray mechanisms, even for high end, are made w/ plastic), but also the huge air exposure created when you make the sample/decant, and the lack of an airtight seal (caps aren't crimped on). I had my eye on Infusion DIris for a while, because I felt an iris perfume would be wonderful for the warmer weather. this year. It does seem like you've already established your scent tastes for lifeshould the rest of us be so lucky! The only thing better would be pure perfume.
It is thefirst powdery soft fragrance since FIFI CHACHNIL to tickle my fancy.

I have to be honest, it does smell a little mature and heavy, so I only wear it in the late summer and fall. I don't find Id'Iris nice girl at all, but rather serene and intellectually understated. A clean, neutral take on Iris, in its many subtle nuances. Anyone with any class at all knows that being understated is something to be known for. Light enough to wear to work and seductive enough for a night on the town.
How does this compare to other luxury scents that you have tried?? Iris Ganache (Guerlain), Orris Noir (Ormonde Jayne), Iris Noir (Yves Rocher), Iris Pallida (LArtisan Parfumeur), 28 La Pausa (Chanel) It seems that iris is a rather au courant note in the European market. The latter to me is basically the same without the Mandarin top and slightly flowery heart note and it's more linear. Though some may think BO is a good thing, I surely don't. This might still be worth a sniff, however, I highly doubt that it will knock Iris 39 out on my to buy list.

It's nothing like Prada's other maintstream scents; it's far more traditional then they, but the base is beautifully light and modern. eeks. I am super selective though with most thingsand Infusion d'Iris is pretty darn good (I'm wearing it now, it's lovely). I wonder if this is because it doesn't have too many synthetic notes? So far as I know, Black has not been discontinued though. To combat that, I wear the body lotion with it. Very impressed with Daniela Andrier. Okay I'm taking it out of the box! - Top: iris pallida, mandarin, neroli. While parfums are often considered superior, simply because there is such a high concentration of essences in themparfums are denser, heavier, sometimes richer in characteredt's can have a charm all their own. Infusion was beautiful at first, but when it dried I was left with a mildew/urine smell.

Very few scents will spoil in less than a year, so I'd say yes. Marchlion told me I would probably like this scentand she was right! are actually quite woody / incensey and although we call them grannies today, they were young girls once thus the good girl and linen drawer lining paper (and the flower prints on them!)
