I cut out the plastic with the chip on it from the original bypass, Glued it to the back of the cover door and has been working fine for over a year now. I have one ready to ship. Best workaround may be to use a dremel and cut out a section of plastic that its adhered to, and and glue it to the inside of the door covering circuit board. I considered using a dremel on the plastic around the chip to avoid damaging the chip itself if I ended up having to order another. I dont use the water dispenser very often.
