The Blendtec works great for me, no issues, and since Im not using it constantly, I couldnt justify the extra cost of the Vitamix. I loaded everything properly and it didnt blend completely. Ive been using it for 14+ years and love it!! Overall, its the blender I would recommend! I only pull it out for extra thick mixtures (like if I add too much frozen fruit to our morning smoothies or am craving a perfect chocolate milkshake), and it really does make a world of difference for that ultra-thick smoothie or milkshake or ice cream.
I should note that Im not very demanding. Im a Vitamix person for the past 10 years.
I had a Vita Mix for well over 10 years and used it daily. Ive had my Vitamix E320 for a week now, and love it so far. That thing is a workhorse. I have a professional 750 for about 4 years. Im not one to ever comment on posts, but I absolutely love my Vitamix! The two dont even compare. NO problems ! After using the Blendtec for two years I can honestly say the Vitamix is so much better! I was really surprised at how much better it blends. The tamper is critically essential for making nut butters, of course, but Id discovered with the first batch Id ever made that Vitamix will shut down rather than burn out the motor, if struggling with a difficult task. They are both great blenders, but I do think Vitamix does a better job. I need a life. Pretty stellar. I was planning to switch when this one dies to a vitamix to see how I like it.
I gave my 3 daughters blendtecs for Christmas a few years ago; thinking they were the same thing. It doesnt have the same power as the Blendtec when it comes to blending things but my husband loves the food processor and the small cups for smoothies. A major plus of Blendtec is that very often, the blender packages come with two jars: the classic jar (32 ounces) and the wild side jar (36 ounces). Having used both, I think of the Blendtec as the quick, little, strong, whippersnapper of the two, while the Vitamix is a gentle, rumbling, hard working giant.
