I've tried this perfume on so many times and it starts out truly incredible. It's a mild sandalwood that is perfectly 'wearable' but unfortunately quite forgettable. The scent is very familiar, if youre into fragrances you will notice its similarities to whats been done before. I have camped on the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico several times and experienced the extreme heat both day and night. I remember this fragrance wafting around in the 90's and I'm pretty sure my mum and/or sisters owned a bottle at some pointbut that really is only the top notes, the intimate drydown is less familiar but an absolute revelation to me. I remember how it was slightly spicy, I got wafts of a warm amber all day. Never smelt anything quite like it. I love this scent, but it depends on mood. Just do it. I have worn it for years and I get " I love when you wear that cologne" each time I wear it . It is like thick mist at dusk. I love this one. It's sensual and soft, and warm while still having a certain freshness. This was many years ago and it would deserve another try again now, I'm sure. ?! Sorry for being dramatic, but I could cry at how beautiful Dune is.
It seems to smell OK, so maybe I got a good deal :). Maybe its not the beast it used to be but thats why I love it so much , summer months are the best time to wear dune its just becomes one with my skin. Distant dry, spicy cousin of Addict, I can feel the relationship.

I love it so much it has made its way into my favorites.
It differs, still, from anything else I've sniffed. Some say its discontinued but its still on the website and I just bought a bottle from a big department store in Stockholm, Sweden. There is no specific single loud note, rather many notes keep coming up and over to keep the charm throughout. Granted, I had just quit smoking when I tested this, but when I tell you it actually smells like cigarettesI had to walk away , im pretty sure I would have gone out and bought a pack if I put it on me. So soothing. DUNE is a MUST for any DIOR collection.
The only perfume I associate with a song, that is Sting-Desert rose. These epic wonders are capable of so instantly summoning such splendid passageway into other planes of reality, that I am almost forced to re-categorize their nature. How long have I been obsessed with fragrances, and obviously heard about Dune many times but never actually tried it myself?!
Better for cool and specifically autumnal weather. Not even 1 % from Dune can be recognized in Ysatis. Dune is a powdery amber, accompanied by sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin, orange, oakmoss. I have resisted buying this fragrance because I don't want to invest in a frag that doesn't evoke emotions that move the earth (or desert sand) for me. Plus it's cheap and easy to find on the web. This perfume has a woody side of Alien by Mugler. Wearing this is a really enjoyable experience which is what we all want from a fragrance. But then ends up in the base notes smelling like strong aftershave, very masculine.
